GEORGE KULANGARA
George Kulangara CMI (born 21 June 1967) is Professor of Philosophy at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bengaluru, India. He belongs to the St. John’s CMI Province of Bijnor and is currently serving as the Provincial of the Bijnor Province (www.cmibijnor.org).

Birth and Education
George Kulangara was born on 21 June 1967. He made his first profession in the CMI Congregation on 19 March 1987. He was ordained a priest in the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church on 3 January 1994, and is a member of the St. John’s CMI Province, Bijnor (www.cmi.org.in). He celebrates his patron’s day on 24 April. He is from Kokkunnam parish of the diocese of Ernakulum-Angamaly. He holds a Licentiate in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (Pontifical Athenaeum of Philosophy, Theology, and Canon Law). He earned his PhD from the Higher Institute of Philosophy, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. 
Later Career
George Kulangara is a member of Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI) from 2012 (www.acpiindia.com) and is a member of Conference of Religious India (CRI). He is working as provincial and consulter of Bijnor diocese. He is the chairman of St. John Ashram Najibabad, Bijnor (www.shimt.org.).  Earlier he served as the dean of Darsana Institute of Philosophy, Sawangi Meghe (www.dade.in). He lectures on Jean-Luc Marions phenomenology of religion for licentiate program in philosophy at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (www.dvk.in).  He preached Chavara retreat that was held for CMI members in Kenya and Tanzania from 26 March 2015 (www.cmi.org.in).  
He started his formal education in Kanjoor and completed his SSLC in 1982.Thereafter he joined the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), of Bijnor province in 1982, continued with his pre-university studies from 1983 to 1985. The next two years, i.e., 1985 to 1987 was his novitiate training, after which on 13 March 1987 he made his first profession which was followed by his philosophical and theological studies at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bengaluru, after which on 3 January 1996  he was ordained a priest of the in the Syro-Malabar Church.   George Kulangara studied literature and philosophy in several Indian universities as mentioned below:
